FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT ARE THE BASIC TYPES OF SCAFFOLDING?

The 3 basic types of scaffolding are supported, suspended and rolling. Supported scaffolding is the easiest and most commonly-used scaffolding construct, built from the base upwards. Suspended scaffolding is suspended from a roof or a tall construct, usually used by window cleaners on buildings. Rolling scaffolding uses wheels to move the base over distances required for some projects.

HOW DO I CHOOSE SCAFFOLDING?

You need to identify the user’s weight, working environment and budget so you can choose the right type of scaffolding for your project. You also need to factor in the additional equipment you will be working with to tailor options according to your requirements. Speak to a professional today.

IS FALL PROTECTION REQUIRED WHEN BUILDING SCAFFOLDING?

A person who intends to erect or dismantle scaffolding must adopt control measures which eliminate, or at least minimise, the risk of a fall from heights. In Queensland, the first point of reference is your employer and control measures should equal or exceed the Workplace Health & Safety QLD legislation and relevant codes of practice
